From engagement to co-development: A new role for science centres and museums in RRI

ECSITE announces the debate event on  how science centres and museums can promote RRI
Place: Onyx
Date: Friday, May 23, 2014 – 12:00 – 13:15
Session format: Panel
Keywords: Networking & partnerships
The panel will debate how science centres and museums can play a key role in promoting Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) using their skills and networking capabilities. Citizen debates and stakeholder consultations led by science centers are contributing to the European research agenda on neuro-enhancement (NERRI), urban waste processing (VOICES), and the sustainable use of marine and maritime ecosystem services (Sea for Society). Other examples are an exhibition to engage the public with the RRI dimensions of science and technology (PIER) or the resources and tools to address these issues (RRI Tools), currently being developed.
